Bolivian Architecture Biennial 2021: Territories, Common Threads

The 14th Bolivian Architecture Biennial 2021 is a cultural and academic event organized by the La Paz Departmental College of Architects (CDALP) and the Bolivian College of Architects (CENA CAB) through their Organizing Committee. The goal of this gathering is to celebrate and disseminate built works, projects, and intellectual contributions related to the architectural and urban environment of recent years, both nationally and internationally.

The Bolivian Biennial is a heritage for all architects nationwide. For this edition, the organizing committee took on the challenge of transitioning the event to a virtual format in response to the postponement caused by the COVID-19 health crisis. Within this context, and embracing the new possibilities generated by lockdown and the adoption of new technologies, the Biennial is shifting and broadening its focus in search of new paradigms that reconfigure the role of the architect in society. This allows us to open a space where we can reflect on our reality and make room for thinking and doing—reflection and action—refining tools that enable us to improve society through architecture.
