The skin sees, the eye thinks. Space—and therefore place—is perceived through all the senses. What influences this perception? How can the senses be stimulated to think and, in doing so, open new perspectives of perception?
We aim to experience, capture, and understand this mutual influence in an experimental, playful, and unique way: a sensitive representation of the history of Presidente Prudente: THE THINKING SENSES.
Escola Aberta no Galpão is an open-course school that promotes cultural activities, debates, meetings, and workshops on architecture, the city, the arts, and related fields. The "Thinking Senses" workshop is the first meeting of the 2022 Migration project, which focuses on the architecture of humanization: the diversity and transdisciplinarity necessary for the debate and construction of cities. The project includes a cycle of four in-person meetings featuring workshops, lectures, and debates on various architectural and urban topics. Through cultural diversity, transversality, and multidisciplinarity, it aims to foster a humanist dialogue on architecture and address the urgent need to position ourselves in the process of rebuilding dialogue, urban and architectural safety and quality, sustainable growth, and social equity.
