Today, May 8, the Fundació Enric Miralles inaugurates its exhibition 99+Imaginaris in the context of the Model. Barcelona Architectures Festival.
Thinking about the future of the city is part of the DNA of modern Barcelona. The Eixample Plan by Ildefonso Cerdà (1859) serves as the first major proof and a still-living, forward-looking, and evolving embodiment of this. To amend Cerdà’s grid, Léon Jaussely was commissioned in 1905 to imagine a more monumental, hierarchical Barcelona, closer to the garden-city model.
