DigitalFUTURES is a global online platform aimed at democratizing access to education and promoting critical and reflective thinking in the fields of architecture and design. Through monthly free events, we explore the latest advancements in computational design, robotic fabrication, artificial intelligence, and related fields, including theoretical, environmental, and social aspects. In 2022, Digital FUTURES Spanish was established to offer discussion sessions and workshops. Since then, it has featured the participation of more than 90 prominent Spanish-speaking designers and architects. These sessions are available for free on their YouTube channel.
This year, the public is invited to participate in "Digital FUTURES 2023: International Online Workshops," which brings together talented architects and educators from firms such as BIG, MYAA Mangera Yvars Architects, and Jaime Peña Estudio, as well as institutions including IAAC BCN, the Buenos Aires Institute of Architecture, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the University of Buenos Aires, Universidad Anáhuac, and the National Autonomous University of Mexico. The opening ceremony will take place on July 22, followed by a week of online workshops and a closing ceremony on July 29.
DigitalFUTURES in Spanish offers six workshops covering a wide range of topics, such as biodesign, computational design, speculative design, digital fabrication, artificial intelligence, material research, visual representation, and data visualization and simulation. These workshops are offered free of charge, and participants will receive a certificate upon completion. Those unable to attend live will be able to access the workshops via YouTube. A complete list of workshops can be found on our website at digitalfutures.international.
