To highlight the themes of Urban October, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) office in Brazil created the Urban Circuit in 2018—a call for events organized by various stakeholders on topics related to Urban October. The second edition of the Urban Circuit in 2019 will feature the general theme "Innovative and Inclusive Cities" and the guiding question: "How can innovation improve urban services and policies in an inclusive and sustainable way?"
In light of this, the Council of Architecture and Urbanism of Minas Gerais (CAU/MG) is hosting an event on World Cities Day, October 31st, to address the challenges and achievements regarding urban growth and the social dynamics that shape cities, while seeking solutions to improve urban living. We will promote high-level discussions on the challenges of sustainable urban development and projects that can influence public policy to improve city conditions regarding: waste, energy, mobility, transportation, adequate housing, public spaces, urban safety, the environment, and sustainable production and consumption.
