On October 22 and 29, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the Rio Grande do Sul chapter of the Brazilian Association of Architectural Offices (AsBEA-RS) is hosting the second short course in its special program series in partnership with the Instituto Ling. Building on last year's success, the "Women in Architecture" course will be led by architect Clarice Debiagi, who will explore the work of various professionals in the field within the contemporary context.
Professionals such as Lina Bo Bardi, Norma Merrick Sklarek, and Zaha Hadid—among both well-known and lesser-known figures—will be the central focus of this project. The primary objective is to showcase the work of women in architecture, highlighting trajectories that demonstrate strong leadership and creative power, even if they have not always received the visibility and recognition they deserve. The course provides a space for reflection on gender within architectural practice, serving as a source of inspiration, a refined perspective, and a showcase of achievements. Registration is available via the website www.institutoling.org.br.
The classes are part of the "Architecture: Ways of Thinking" program, which offers a reflection on the horizon of architecture from the perspective of the contemporary world, in a special series designed for architects and the general public interested in the field. This will be the final meeting of the 2024 project, which began in September with a lecture by Colombian anthropologist Santiago Uribe Rocha.
