Book Launch: "Incontornáveis" by Antonio Manuel
Incontornáveis is the name of a series of unpublished works that Antonio Manuel produced during the lockdown imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also the title of the book to be launched by BEĨ Editora on February 20, 2025, at 7:00 PM, at Livraria da Travessa in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, featuring a conversation between the artist and curator Paulo Venancio Filho. The book will also be launched in São Paulo during SP-Arte. In this bilingual volume, recent experiments engage in dialogue with works and performances that have marked the artist's career.
Spanning 208 pages, the book—noted for its visual and graphic refinement—features images of the unpublished Incontornáveis series, including two facsimiles. The publication is completed by original texts from curators Ana Maria Maia and Paulo Venancio Filho, in addition to the essay “O galo dos ovos de ouro,” written by Décio Pignatari in 1973 for the *Exposição de Antonio Manuel (de 0 às 24 horas nas bancas de jornais)*.
