First RENAV (National Network of Volunteer Architects) Training Session: “Basic Concepts, Stages, and Tools for Emergency Management in Chile.”
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The RENAV project was established by the Young Architects Committee of the College of Architects (CAJ) in response to the high frequency of natural disasters in our country in recent years—such as the 2008 Chaitén volcano eruption, the 2007 Tocopilla earthquake, the 2010 27F earthquake, the 2014 Valparaíso fire, the 2015 northern floods, and the 2015 Calbuco volcano eruption, among others. It serves as an initiative to provide professional support from our field, including infrastructure assessment, the design and/or layout of emergency villages, and other requirements from public institutions or NGOs during national emergencies.
