LA ESCUELA___ is an artist-led platform for radical learning and collective action in public space. By understanding art as education and education as art, it offers a free, open-access, transdisciplinary program featuring both online and on-site projects. This space for creation, training, and research on art and education in Latin America launches its activities in March 2022.
Rooted in a long genealogy of Latin American educators and artists socially committed to their contexts, LA ESCUELA___ seeks to bring art and education closer to the realities of specific locations, in order to learn from and act upon them. In collaboration with creators, universities, institutions, and communities, it will develop educational projects that address the region's social, ecological, and political challenges. These creations are proposed as collaborative works whose medium is education.
