Once again, the application process is open for the 2019 Cantabria Traditional Architecture Summer School, organized by the Rafael Manzano Prize and INTBAU.
The program will take place in the Valderredible area, in the southern reaches of Cantabria, Spain, along the upper Ebro River, from July 8 to 21. This international workshop on architectural drawing and design will focus on traditional construction, architecture, and urbanism. Participants will first develop a manual for conservation and new traditional construction in the area, subsequently using it to design improvement proposals for various local public spaces. Attendees will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and collaborate with students and faculty of various nationalities. Practical work will be complemented by lectures from experts in vernacular architecture and construction, alongside regional excursions and visits to workshops and construction sites.
