POP-UP Event: "One Obstruction"

One Obstruction is a collaborative project that proposes exploring alternatives to the tools traditionally used to represent, showcase, and distribute architecture.

Between 2017 and 2021, Rodrigo Valenzuela Jerez –(E)StudioFutur@– invited a group of audiovisual artists to portray the BC house, with a single constraint: do not fetishize architecture as a fixed or idealized reality. Consequently, eight artists documented the BC house across its various stages: construction, moving in, and use during the lockdowns.

Through the perspectives of Bruno Salas, Bárbara Oettingger, Sebastian Mejía, Diego Grass, Macarena Álvarez, Emilio Marín, Francisco Jullian, and Luis Ignacio Correa, the BC house became a field for experimentation and observation of uses and programs, furniture, people, objects, the passage of time, and change, incorporating layers of complexity that are inexorably linked to architecture.
