Book Launch: Max Nuñez Arquitectos

On August 16 at 7:00 PM, Interdesign—located at Isidora Goyenechea 3200, Las Condes—will host the launch of the third installment of the ARQ Monografías series, dedicated to the work of Max Núñez, an architect and professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Max Núñez belongs to a generation of architects who began their professional practice just over a decade ago, coinciding with the end of the "starchitect" hegemony that defined the political and economic climate until 2008. Alongside his office practice, Núñez directs the Master of Architecture program at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he has fostered a global exchange of ideas and promoted discussions regarding buildings as objects of architectural knowledge. Within this generational context—one lacking certainty and eager for critical reflection to guide practice—both his academic and professional work have had to confront the question of architecture's value: what matters and why, once it is accepted that formal impact alone is no longer sufficient.
