The new issue of Materia Arquitectura magazine, an editorial project by the Faculty of Architecture, Art, and Design at Universidad San Sebastián directed by Mario Marchant, centers on one of architecture's fundamental subjects: theory. This issue invites readers to reflect on the role of theory, arguing that architectural magazines are the space where it is put to the test.
Featuring guest editor Gabriela García de Cortázar, the issue opens with an interview with Emilio Tuñón, followed by six dossier articles that explore—among other topics—the value of magazines in fostering debates, movements, and projects, as well as the relationship between theory and practice. Contributors to this issue include prominent international architects and academics such as Aitor Acilu, Véronique Patteeuw, Thomas Weaver, Pier Paolo Tamburelli, Cynthia Davidson, Jimena Hogrebe, Francisco Silva, Pedro Correa, and Paula Orta.
