The launch of the book ART-quitectura will take place on November 20th. This is the 14th work by architect Luis Alonso, founding partner of the firm Alonso, Balaguer y Arquitectos Asociados—one of the most international and prolific Spanish architecture firms today—in which he showcases 10 of his projects developed across different countries.
The event will simultaneously feature 14 large-format oil paintings from his private collection, created by Catalan artist Albert Vidal. The canvases depict Alonso’s projects during their construction process. This represents a 15-year collaborative journey, during which the architect and artist have engaged in a dialogue about art, the city, shadows, buildings, and urban environments. The contrast between the final built reality and the intermediate moment frozen in the painting creates ART-quitectura in its purest form, possessing great significance and visual impact.
