The Latin American Master in Architecture program at the Universidad del Bío-Bío is presenting an exhibition of design theses from its first graduating class at the Exhibition Hall of the Concepción Architects' Association. These design theses represent the final project for the Master's degree, combining theoretical development with a design exercise.
From October 4 to 13, the exhibition features the design theses of Bárbara Sáez Orrego, who explores the personalization of living spaces by creating a pavilion of domestic objects that challenges the increasing standardization of housing while proposing new architectural conditions. Also on display is the design thesis of Diego Cárdenas Merino, who studied co-creation by examining the use of digital views, models, and installations applied with a circus troupe and a rural school, demonstrating the effectiveness and reach of community participation in architectural design.
Subsequently, the design theses of Patricio Ortega and Giuliano Pastorelli will be exhibited. They explored decolonization through artificial intelligence imagery and Mendes da Rocha's strategies for lending lightness to architectural works. These experiences propose new paths for architectural development based on their postgraduate training, inviting an expansion of design perspectives.
