The "A Construção da Profissão" (The Construction of the Profession) project was coordinated and executed by the Institute of Architects of Brazil, Federal District Department (IAB.DF), with sponsorship from the Council of Architecture and Urbanism of the Federal District (CAU/DF) and support from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Brasília (FAU/UnB).
The project began in 2017, initially focusing on the reorganization and allocation of the IAB's archives located in the Federal District. This foundation led to the development of subsequent projects, all based on the IAB's collection.
In 2023, through a CAU/DF grant, the project took on a more intensive educational and cultural focus, incorporating lectures and workshops with architecture and archival professionals. All activities were designed with the IAB's ultimate goal in mind: the exhibition itself.
