13th Architecture and Urbanism Week

In its 13th edition, the ARQ URB Week at Faculdades Santo Agostinho has established itself as the largest Architecture and Urbanism event in Northern Minas Gerais. Featuring workshops, short courses, debates, design marathons, and lectures, the event aims to explore themes of architecture focused on urban kindness in a cross-disciplinary manner.

The lecture series will feature architect and urban planner Dietmar Starke, known for designing the Women's Center of the Islamic World in Egypt and for bringing the first post-WWII Bauhaus project to Brazil: the Urban Cell, implemented in the Jacarezinho favela in Rio de Janeiro. Following this, a roundtable discussion with the architects featured in the book Conversas com Arquitetos Norte Mineiros will conclude the first night of the event.

The second day will feature architect Flávio de Castro (UFMG), a specialist in Geoprocessing from PUC Minas, as well as architect Vinicius de Almeida (UFV), a member of the Minas Gerais Fire Engineering Association (AMEI), who works with the approval of Fire and Panic Safety Projects.
