The "São Paulo in the Heights" course, organized by ,Ovo in partnership with SP-Arte, investigates the reasons behind the architectural miracle that occurred in São Paulo during the 1950s. How did avant-garde developers and architects manage, in just one decade, to build the Copan, Conjunto Nacional, and Itália buildings, the Metrópole and Rock galleries, Artacho Jurado’s residential projects, and a significant portion of the Higienópolis neighborhood?
The course also explores the reasons behind the end of this rare alliance between capital and talent, and what it will take for São Paulo to reclaim the ambition it held when it viewed itself as the New York of the South.
