This course introduces aspects of ecological architecture through the design and construction of a small house, focusing on integrating architecture with the environment. Key topics include landscape analysis, appropriate material use, water flow and its biological processes, food production, energy efficiency, bioclimatic design, and the capacity of a building to generate positive social impact.
The course explores ecological concepts in housing, recognizing that natural systems offer a roadmap for our cultural activities. A house acts as a living organism, constantly receiving and providing energy. This exchange must be beneficial to ensure the vitality of the territory in which it is situated. The objective of this course is to empower participants to plan a small house using the principles of integrated architecture.
