Exhibition “Personal Histories”

"Private Histories": Opening October 10
Monica Barki produces ceramic sculptures for the first time, presented at Galeria Patricia Costa, with curation by Vanda Klabin

As a draftsperson, painter, printmaker, performer, and multimedia artist, Monica Barki has built her career by moving between various techniques with recognized skill. In "Private Histories," a solo exhibition opening October 10 at Galeria Patricia Costa, she reveals a new facet: that of a sculptor. Her "poetic and fabulous" ceramic pieces, as described by Vanda Klabin in the curatorial text, were produced between 2022 and 2024, marking a path the artist had not previously explored since beginning her career in the late 1970s. Acrylic and oil paintings on canvas complement the selection of works on display.
