How can one intervene in a neutral space to create a place that evokes emotion? In what way does an ethereal material like light generate meaning? Art installations—understood as contemporary practices of spatial transformation—seek to place the viewer within a system of new aesthetic and symbolic experiences. Light Art is a field of art that explores the capacity of light as a material for creative expression, both experimentally and theoretically.
Drawing from the intersection of these two perspectives, the Light-Space workshop is presented as a theoretical and practical experience centered on the capacity to transform space through light. The course consists of two parts: a theoretical phase in which participants will deepen their knowledge of Light Art and spatial installations, and a practical phase in which a light installation will be designed and built as a group.
