Instituto Ling is hosting a special program to reflect on architecture in the contemporary world. Held in partnership with AsBEA-RS (the Brazilian Association of Architectural Offices of Rio Grande do Sul), the project features an inaugural lecture and two short courses running from May to August, exploring cities, history, memory, and sustainability, while offering new perspectives on ways of living, coexisting, and dwelling.
The agenda begins on May 4th with the lecture "The City Dreams," presented by journalist Raul Juste Lores, author of the book São Paulo nas Alturas and producer of the YouTube channel of the same name, where he discusses topics such as mobility, sustainability, social justice, and economic growth. In this richly illustrated panel, Lores will discuss how architects, developers, and governments can transform buildings, neighborhoods, and cities. He will highlight examples of high-profile projects that received significant media attention but were never scrutinized for their architectural and urbanistic merits, as well as projects that flew under the media radar while successfully fulfilling their urban responsibilities.
