des_VINCULADOS Workshop: Does architecture exist in the middle class?

TALLER25, in collaboration with the Department of Architecture at the University of Chile's Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (FAU), invites you to the first edition of the des_VINCULADOS WORKSHOP, taking place in Santiago on April 13, 16, 18, 20, and 24, 2018.

The des_VINCULADOS workshop series consists of a set of housing design and budgeting exercises for university students. By addressing the needs of real middle- and lower-middle-class families, the program seeks to constrain typical classroom design freedoms to the objectivity of the market, thereby creating opportunities to observe the intersection of expectations and reality.

des_VINCULADOS is part of the academic research project Encargos Comunes: an applied research initiative exploring the possibilities, access, and methodologies of middle-class housing in Chile. Originating from the practice of TALLER25, the project is based on three single-family housing typologies, examining construction experimentation with limited budgets and the architect-user relationship required to realize a built idea.
