The Latin American Symposium on Tensile Structures is the flagship event of the Latin American Tensile Structures Network (Tensored). This edition will be held at the "Ccoriwasi" Cultural Center of the Ricardo Palma University in Lima, Peru, on September 11, 12, and 13, 2018.
Since the first symposium in São Paulo, Brazil (2002)—followed by editions in Caracas, Venezuela (2005); Acapulco, Mexico (2008); Montevideo, Uruguay (2011); Santiago, Chile (2012); and Brasília, Brazil (2014)—this event has become a milestone in the Latin American tensile architecture calendar. It features presentations from leading global experts in the field, as well as showcases of regional developments and projects from both institutional and private sectors, student competitions, and technical workshops.
The SLTE 2018 agenda will cover current topics in tensile structures, including their educational role, new technological applications, materials and models, software support, construction, and assembly. Additionally, the event will promote lightweight structural systems through the Student Competition.
