Since 1927, the most visited park in South America has undergone various projects, culminating in its completion for the 4th centennial of São Paulo. Following a participatory process with users and local residents, the city government has begun planning for the next decade. With this in mind, the 033 ideas competition hosted by Portal Projetar centers on the following question: “How can we make Ibirapuera Park better for daily users and occasional visitors?”
The goal is for participants to rethink Ibirapuera's infrastructure by imagining new proposals for entrances, restrooms, snack bars, and street furniture—such as benches with dining tables, trash cans, water fountains, and bike racks—to improve this cultural escape for residents amidst the urban fabric of Avenida Paulista.
It is important to note that Portal Projetar hosts ideas competitions to foster civic awareness among participants through the cultural shifts of our society. In other words, the projects submitted by teams will not be built.
