The Lisbon Architecture Triennale and Garagem Sul – Centro Cultural de Belém aim to organize a conference cycle that addresses themes of great societal relevance and facilitates the sharing of contemporary practices, bringing renowned thinkers to Lisbon with a particular focus on the European context.
Building upon the conference cycles that both institutions have organized in collaboration (Critical Distance Conferences, since 2011, and Garagem Conferences, since 2017), it has become timely to merge the two programs into a new proposal open to external curation. We intend to present diverse perspectives within the field of architectural thought, while continuing to foster engagement between the public and key ongoing debates. We are seeking an original approach to organizing an architecture conference within the current context.
