Patio. Encuentro de Intervenciones Efímeras, in collaboration with the National System of Art Creators of the Federal Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Culture of the State of Puebla, Museos Puebla, the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture of Puebla, the Municipal Secretariat of Economy and Tourism of Puebla, and the Office of the Historic Center and Cultural Heritage of the Municipality of Puebla, invites artists from various disciplines, students, teachers, researchers, and the interested public to submit research for the third edition of Patio Académico.
Patio. Encuentro de Intervenciones Efímeras is a cultural, social, and civic program that fosters dialogue between the historical heritage of the city of Puebla and contemporary art through an annual competition of ephemeral art installations, academic activities, and outreach sessions, with the goal of re-signifying, revaluing, and opening the "heart of the Poblano house."
The third edition of Patio Académico will take place from October 1 to 9, 2022. As in previous editions, it will feature six research projects. In addition to fostering an exchange of meanings between Poblano architecture and contemporary art, these projects must address the theme of migration. Migration is one of the social dynamics that most impacts the lives of millions of people. While acknowledging the advantages of the cultural and social exchange this phenomenon entails, it also presents enormous challenges. This highlights the importance of approaching it from an artistic and interdisciplinary perspective. In this sense, Patio Académico 3 considers it necessary to re-signify human migration in all its forms; therefore, academic proposals must consider this as part of their essence.
