The city of Alicante, the provincial capital and the fifth most populous city in Spain, boasts a privileged climate, an exceptional location, magnificent infrastructure, and extraordinary connectivity. With its airport—the fifth busiest in Spain by passenger volume—and its high-speed rail connection to Madrid, the city is a continuously developing technological and service hub that also hosts the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the registry for EU trademarks and designs.
A collaboration between the Alicante Provincial Council, the City Council, and the Port Authority is promoting the construction of this public facility on piers 7 and 9 of the Port of Alicante. This prime site will catalyze the rehabilitation of a vast port area, aiming to transform spaces previously dedicated to maritime industrial use into areas integrated with the city of Alicante, its residents, and its visitors.
