Against the backdrop of the current climate crisis and environmental collapse, the 2022 AA Visiting School (Architectural Association Visiting School) will explore future scenarios for the Chilean Patagonia, assuming it will undergo a process of rapid urbanization and increasing disputes over its resources and potential.
The program will take place at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) research station in Bahía Exploradores, a 5,079-hectare site in the Aysén region. Located near General Carrera Lake and the Northern Patagonian Ice Field, the station is managed by the Faculty of Geography and Political Science as part of an interdisciplinary effort that includes the UC Faculties of Biological Sciences, Agronomy, and Architecture.
