Archiprix International and Archiprix Chile are proud to announce the launch of their tenth edition. Following successful editions in Rotterdam (2001), Istanbul (2003), Glasgow (2005), Shanghai (2007), Montevideo (2009), Cambridge, USA (2011), Moscow (2013), Madrid (2015), and Ahmedabad (2017), Archiprix International will once again host a unique event showcasing the world's best graduation projects in architecture, urban design, and landscape architecture. Archiprix International 2019 will take place in Santiago, Chile, with the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and the Universidad de Chile serving as co-organizers.
1,700 universities from over 100 countries are invited to participate. Since its inception in 2001, 785 universities have participated in one or more editions, with a total of 2,224 graduation projects submitted. This makes Archiprix International the world's largest competition for recent graduates in architecture, urban design, and landscape architecture.
The best projects, selected by an international jury, will receive the Hunter Douglas Awards at a special ceremony on May 3, 2019. The awards are named after Hunter Douglas, the manufacturer behind well-known brands such as Luxaflex and Luxalon. The awards ceremony will be accompanied by a conference, a series of presentations of participating projects, and an exhibition. The designers of the top graduation projects are invited to participate in an international design workshop the week prior to the awards ceremony.
