Jean-Michel Othoniel at the Glass House

On May 30, Jean-Michel Othoniel will inaugurate his first institutional exhibition at the Instituto Bardi – Casa de Vidro. Titled "Poetic Living," the exhibition presents new works by the French artist, created specifically to occupy the house in dialogue with the architecture and body of work of Lina Bo Bardi.

"I feel deeply honored and happy to create a dialogue, during this exhibition, between my work and this fragile universe, still inhabited by its familiar objects. This glass house, flooded with light, offers a unique setting for my glass works, where reflections and transparencies multiply infinitely.
In the garden, my organic sculptures made of mirrored beads reflect the architecture and capture the movements of the surrounding vegetation. My study of the flowers planted by Lina Bo Bardi gave rise to a series of watercolors that I chose to present on glass easels, in homage to the iconic MASP installation," says Jean-Michel Othoniel.
