The Foros lecture series at the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, an essential annual event in the fields of architecture and urbanism, is launching a new edition in an online format that will run from January 27 to April 28.
Titled "Expectations," Foros 2021 will guide reflections on the reconstruction scenario resulting from the COVID-19 crisis across all sectors of society, with a special focus on architecture and urbanism. For the third consecutive year, the series is directed by professors Guillem Carabí and Fredy Massad. "It is necessary and responsible to adopt a new ethical, political, economic, and social perspective, as well as a new approach to habits and customs. Good intentions regarding the environment, the circular economy, sustainability, recycling, or the distribution of production goods are no longer sufficient. We have a responsibility to incorporate all these elements without delay and without interruption. The planet is no longer warning us; it is rebelling," they explain.
