The 2nd "Art, Cities, and Urbanities" Meeting is a project organized by the URBANIDADES Research Group (PPGAV-UFBA) that aims to bring together researchers and artists in Salvador, Bahia, to discuss and explore artistic practices within urban contexts.
Fifty years after the global protests of 1968 and the publication of Henri Lefebvre’s Le droit à la ville, the meeting features a program composed of thematic working groups. Through panel discussions, paper presentations, artistic performances, and workshops, the event seeks to reflect on how artistic practices can challenge the increasingly privatized and commodified nature of social and public urban spaces, while also reimagining the environments they inhabit and reclaiming the right to a sensitive city.
