Since 2010, the School of Architecture at Universidad Mayor in Santiago has held an annual international workshop, inviting architecture schools from around the world to collaborate for nine days. Each invited school sends a professor and a group of students who, alongside our school's students and faculty, think, discuss, and develop proposals on a specific architectural theme. Beyond the work itself, related lectures are held, and the final results are presented to an external jury.
The primary objective is to create an experience of teamwork and academic development, generating debate and reflection through diverse perspectives and experiences, aiming to reach relevant and pertinent projects and ideas regarding habitation and the city.
Some of the schools that have participated in previous editions include: ETSAB (Barcelona), IIT (Chicago), Escola da Cidade (São Paulo), IUAV (Venice), Universidad de Palermo (Buenos Aires), Universidad de la República (Montevideo), Universidad de Mendoza, Politecnico di Milano, and the School of Architecture at the Pontificia Universidad Católica (Santiago).
