Throughout its more than 75-year history, the Institute of Architects of Brazil – São Paulo Department (IABsp) has built and maintained an important documentary archive comprising meeting minutes, technical reports, periodical and bibliographic publications, photographs, audiovisual recordings, and works of art—a collection that documents the various activities of the institution and the architecture and urbanism profession in São Paulo.
The 2020-2022 IABsp administration set out to digitize this archive and make it freely available on its website, resulting in a series of digital collections released since 2020—a year when the social isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic underscored the need to expand the archive beyond analog formats.
