The postgraduate program in "Parametric Design in Architecture" aims to foster the development of technical skills and cognitive strategies, enabling students to create design methods using programming languages. Through a practical and theoretical approach, the program seeks to equip students with the skills necessary to apply knowledge and techniques of parametric modeling, with a focus on material behavior simulation, form-finding processes, and form generation and optimization.
The general objective of the course is to provide training and qualification in parametric design applied to constructive experimentation. The program will provide a theoretical and practical foundation aimed at developing technical skills related to form, materiality, and tectonics in spatial design. Emphasis will be placed on the potential of digital technologies as tools to assist professionals in decision-making.
Students will work at the interface between architecture and computational programming, facilitated by the use of parametric digital tools, while exploring concepts of form, materiality, and tectonics.
