The book, the result of classes taught at Escola da Cidade, was organized and conceived by artist and professor Claudio Mubarac.
Escola da Cidade Publishing House, part of the Escola da Cidade – School of Architecture and Urbanism, will host the launch of the book “Sobre o desenho no Brasil” [On Drawing in Brazil] on October 4th at 7:30 PM. The book was organized and conceived by artist and professor Claudio Mubarac. The idea to publish these materials as a text originated from a series of classes taught in the Design course at Escola da Cidade. Gradually, a mosaic of historical documents regarding the importance of teaching drawing in Brazil was added to the book. Finally, a visual essay contemporary to the time each text was written was paired with it, establishing a dialogue between image and text.
