This past September, Brick Week took place, coinciding with the launch of the Brick Architecture Award. The goal: to highlight the relevance of brick within the national architectural landscape.
The event kicked off on the first day with a discussion on contemporary architecture and the challenges of tomorrow, bringing together diverse perspectives from the professional sphere. Participants included Mónica Álvarez de Oro, president of the Association of Architecture Offices (AOA); Pablo Allard, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Art at the Universidad del Desarrollo, representing academia; Pola Mora, representing the ArchDaily team, who discussed the visibility of brick in significant architectural works; and Hernán Levy, president of Cerámica Santiago, who addressed innovation and refinement in industrial brick manufacturing processes.
