Paulistana Architecture Open Course - M13

The course is structured around visits to contemporary architectural works in São Paulo, always in the company of the architect who developed the project.
A public inaugural class will be held to present the course and explain the logistics of the visits.
The selection of sites to be visited is based on the following criteria: location, scale, author, and use.
Each visit includes discussions on topics such as the practical realities of architectural practice, education, new technologies, work processes, and the project's relationship with the city.

Marco Artigas graduated from Escola da Cidade (2006) and holds a postgraduate degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, 2009). He worked at the firm Piratininga Arquitetos Associados (2010–14) on projects in collaboration with architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha, as well as at Josep Ferrando Architecture (Barcelona, 2007–09). He also participated in research at the Rede Sarah Technology Center (Salvador, 2006) with architect João Filgueiras Lima (Lelé). He served as an assistant professor for the Design course at Escola da Cidade (2011–12) and organized the centenary celebration for his grandfather, Vilanova Artigas (2015). Currently, he teaches the Arquitetura Paulistana open course, serves as vice-president of the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB-SP), and leads his own firm, Estúdio Artigas, where he develops architecture and urban planning projects.
