From March 5 to 9, 2019, the second BAMBOO EXPERIENCE CAMP workshop will take place in Azpitia, an hour from Lima. This construction workshop is organized by Bamboo Green Cities as a social collaboration project that combines technical training in bamboo construction with community-focused goals, serving as a tool for change. On this occasion, Azpitia, in the Mala Valley, invites us to highlight its identity as a hub for bamboo, apples, and pisco.
Through technical training workshops, Bamboo Green Cities seeks to leverage local bamboo in the host community, adding value through ecological architectural models that resonate with their context and territory. By applying appropriate construction techniques and learning through inclusive, community-based work under the guidance of experts from Peru, Mexico, and Colombia—covering everything from resource identification, cultivation, and utilization to the construction of a bamboo module—the initiative fosters endogenous and sustainable development.
About the Workshop | We are committed to the realization of a building constructed with bamboo as a contribution to the Azpitia community, under the guidance of experts and involving the community through the Municipality of Santa Cruz and the San Vicente de Azpitia Irrigation Board.
