Rodrigo de Castro: Between Forms and Colors

“Rodrigo de Castro: Between Forms and Colors”
For the first time, the artist presents steel sculptures with automotive paint, alongside recent canvases, at Galeria Patrícia Costa, curated by Vanda Klabin

Known for precise brushstrokes that explore the chromatic field with geometric lines, Rodrigo de Castro has allowed himself to transition, for the first time in his career, between the flat plane and three-dimensionality. As he describes it, he is revealing his facet as a “painter making sculptures”: after six years without a solo exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, the artist will showcase—for the first time—steel sculptures with automotive paint, in addition to recently completed large and medium-format paintings, in the solo exhibition “Rodrigo de Castro: Between Forms and Colors.” Those familiar with the artist's trajectory will also be surprised by the new series of black canvases intersected by subtle lines of color.
