For the first time, LIGA presents the work of a Cuban architecture firm: Infraestudio. The studio, led by Anadis González and Fernando Martirena, addresses various conflicts and challenges in its daily practice, including job insecurity in a context where private architecture is illegal. Despite this obstacle, they have managed to develop a provocative body of built work that they intertwine with proposals linked to artistic practices.
Infraestudio’s exhibition En tu mente, presented by LIGA, is a show that renounces the materiality of architecture to approach an imaginary dimension: the world of words. Infraestudio proposes an architecture of ideas that—in their own words—is an "Idealist Architecture" whose constructions do not depend on reality to exist. The exhibition consists of eight works that materialize only through narrative. Based on ideas, the pieces construct an architecture made for our minds; incorporeal and anti-sensory, with as many forms as there are readers.
