“The Limits of the Possible” is the title of a lecture in which prominent Mexican sculptor José Dávila will discuss his work and processes, as part of the “Architecture of Selection” series organized by the School of Architecture at Universidad Finis Terrae.
The event will take place on Wednesday, October 6, at 6:30 PM (Chile time) via Zoom.
The School of Architecture’s interest in inviting the artist stems from the connection between art and architecture, the field in which Dávila was trained. Dávila’s work has been exhibited internationally in China, Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands, among other locations, and is included in various public and private collections, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Pérez Art Museum Miami, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary in Vienna.
His sculptural work places a strong emphasis on the use of diverse materials and the materialization of physical processes such as gravity, resistance, and the exchange of forces.
