São Paulo, 2023 – Insper, through its Arq.Futuro Cities Laboratory, has opened registration for the first cohort of the live online course "Urban Planning and City Regulations." In this course, students will examine the Municipal Master Plan model—the primary regulatory instrument for cities—building the repertoire and critical perspective needed to update it to improve urban territories, a project currently being undertaken by various cities across the country due to legal requirements.
Throughout the course, participants will explore case studies and experiences regarding urbanization in occupied areas, "Smart Cities" and their associated benefits and challenges, urban mobility, urban economics, and the polycentric city, among other topics.
The program aims to foster theoretical reflection, complemented by an immersion in local and international case studies to identify the successes and failures of various intervention strategies. Classes begin on the final day of registration, May 23, and run through June 27. Sessions will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM via the Insper platform. The 30-hour course consists of 20 hours of live instruction and 10 hours of asynchronous content.
