Fourteen prominent international architects are featured in the exhibition currently on display at the UC Casona Lo Contador (Patio Los Naranjos). The exhibition draws inspiration from the Heidelberg Castle Architecture Forum, which has brought together approximately 600 architecture enthusiasts from Germany and around the world twice a year since 2011.
The work and architectural proposals of each of these professionals are showcased through hanging prints. Exhibition curator Bernd Müller, Director of State Property and Construction for the German state of Baden-Württemberg, notes that while these architects’ approaches differ significantly, they all share an intense relationship with their context and a clear intention to create memorable places. Their designs take into account the existing urban fabric, landscape, and history of the site, reflecting a sense of social responsibility.
Participating architects include Franco Stella, Max Dudler, Volker Staab, Arno Lederer, Michael Schumacher, Stefan Marte, Von Gerkan and Volkwin Marg, Gesine Weinmiller, Regine Leibinger, Daniel Libeskind, Stefan Behnisch, Nathalie De Vries, Gottfried and Peter Böhm, and Christoph Ingenhoven.
