Castro Open Festival 2020

Festival Castro Abierto announces its second edition for March 28 and 29. This free cultural event in the Chiloé archipelago aims to become a benchmark for the mediation and dissemination of architecture, landscape, and heritage, with the goal of promoting community participation in the construction of their environments.

Castro Abierto is an architecture, landscape, and heritage festival that invites people to rediscover the territory by visiting various spaces of architectural, environmental, urban, social, and cultural value for free. It is open to the public, and its second edition will open 21 spaces in both rural and urban areas, selected through a curation process that highlights different cases and issues of contemporary living.

This year, the reflection will focus on aspects such as the importance of the role of women in the environmental and food sustainability of the archipelago; creative processes linked to their environments; and the relevance of water landscapes, such as wetlands, peatlands, and the inland sea.
