NUTAU 2020

The 13th NUTAU 2020 International Seminar, scheduled for November, will be held entirely online. The central theme, "Valorization of Urban Forestry Waste," aims to explore its potential for research and projects across relevant fields of study.

This theme was chosen in recognition of the importance of urban forestry to cities, for both environmental and aesthetic reasons. It provides numerous benefits to local conditions by purifying the air, reducing noise, increasing soil permeability, mitigating the formation of "heat islands," and protecting wildlife. Furthermore, it has a significant impact on landscaping, creating greater scenic beauty, shaded areas, and spaces for rest and contemplation. However, its planning and management involve a complex set of costly activities and various interactions—often conflicting—with urban infrastructure and both public and private stakeholders.
