“ALTAR”
A solo exhibition by Fabi Cunha presents a selection of new works, curated by Jozias Benedicto at the Galeria de Arte Ibeu
Starting July 17, the installation “ALTAR”—the namesake of Fabi Cunha’s solo exhibition—will take center stage at the Galeria de Arte Ibeu. Curated by Jozias Benedicto, the exhibition features an antique altar inherited from the artist's grandmother, which she has transformed by incorporating paintings and live plants. The exhibition will be on view at the Jardim Botânico gallery until August 8, showcasing approximately 25 canvases from the series “Santos” (Saints) and “Impressões da Mata Atlântica” (Impressions of the Atlantic Forest). These works, some created in 2024 and others dating back two decades, are being shown to the public for the first time. Cunha’s practice is rooted in her research into the flora and fauna of the Atlantic Forest, where she lives and maintains her studio.
