From October 7 to 11, the 11th Patagonia Architecture Congress—40 Years will take place in Punta Arenas.
The countdown has begun for the 11th Patagonia Architecture Congress, organized by the Magallanes Zonal Delegation of the College of Architects. The event has successfully attracted more than 40 speakers from Chile and Argentina and will feature a series of activities open to the community, including a Sustainable Building Fair and a Collective Visual Arts Exhibition.
Under the theme "Patagonia: A Possible Sustainability," the congress is sponsored by the University of Magallanes, the Illustrious Municipality of Punta Arenas, and the Regional Ministerial Secretariat (SEREMI) of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage. It aims to foster proactive debate through four daily themes held at the Ernesto Livacic Auditorium of the University of Magallanes' Faculty of Engineering and Architecture: building, heritage, city, and territory. The opening session will take place at the "Claudio Paredes Chamorro" Municipal Cultural Center in Punta Arenas on October 7 at 6:30 PM, featuring keynote lectures by the 2024 National Architecture Award winner, Cristian Castillo Echeverría, and the prominent Chilean architect Cristobal Tirado.
