Architects Silvia Mendoza Marzola, president of the Colombian Society of Architects (SCA-PN), Paola Zellner-Basset, director of the International Archive of Women in Architecture (IAWA), and Ana María Pinzón Romero, coordinator of the Colombian Architects (AC) initiative, invite all architects in the country to participate in the call for submissions for the 1x1 Collection Colombia 2022.
The 1x1 Collection invites any architect in the country—or third parties acting on their behalf—to donate an original two-dimensional piece to the International Archive of Women in Architecture (IAWA), which is preserved at the IAWA center at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, United States.
This donation initiative aims to include Colombian architects in the 1x1 Collection alongside peers from around the world. As one of the 500 collections housed at the IAWA, it serves as a foundation for research, events, and information exchange regarding women in architecture and design globally. This call for submissions was launched because Colombia is currently one of the countries without any representation in the IAWA.
